CSU Mentor Steps

MLIS - Fall 2010 Special Session

IMPORTANT: The notice of admission from the School of Library and Information Science will only come via e–mail. Make sure you set your spam filter to accept all correspondences from the .sjsu.edu domain.

Special session is not financially supported by the State of California. Before applying please be very clear what that means for you.

Read the following very carefully:

  1. Anyone–no matter where they live–can apply via special session.
  2. You will remain a special session student for the duration of your MLIS degree. You cannot switch to the state supported part of the program when the California State University once again accepts admissions to regular session (state support) no matter where you live.
  3. The fees are highly competitive, currently $474 per unit (the MLIS degree is 43 units) but subject to review and change.
  4. You are not eligible for any kind of state financial aid but may be eligible for federal funding aid. For financial aid questions please contact Carol Garcia (e-mail: Carol.Garcia@sjsu.edu Phone: 408-924-6081)
