SLIS Blackboard Tutorials > Asynchronous Communication > Group E-mail
|
There are two ways of accessing Blackboard's e-mail function. The first way is to click the Communication link in your course's link menu, and then clicking Send Email:

Alternatively, you can go through the Control Panel, and click Send Email under the Course Tools section:

From here, the instructor can send e-mails to either all groups or selected groups:

For this example, we will use the Select Groups function.
When the Select Group e-mail function is used, the instructor must select which group he/she will send an e-mail to. Blackboard will use the e-mail addresses your course's users have entered into their Blackboard account information.

First you must find the group you want to send the e-mail to in the Available to Select list (located to the right). Highlight the group with your mouse, and click the right arrow in the between the Available to Select field and the Selected field to move the highlighted group to the Selected list:

In the From field, Blackboard will list the e-mail address you have attached to your Blackboard account. Note: A copy of the e-mail you send will be also be sent to your e-mail account.
Enter text into the Subject and Message fields. Add any attachments you wish to include in the e-mail.

Click Submit to send your e-mail.
