Responsibilities of the SLIS Blackboard Instructor
Course Creation HTML
Instructors are responsible for creating their Blackboard course.
Standardizing Blackboard Course Name HTML
Instructors must implement the following format
when creating a course to the Course Name field. Standardizing the Course Name in this format ensures a streamlined way for
students to find the proper Blackboard class to enroll in.
Categorizing Your Course HTML
Make sure that you categorize your course properly by associating it with the proper semester of instruction. It helps your students find your course in Blackboard's own Course Catalog.
Enabling Access-Code Student Self-Enrollment HTML
Instructors are responsible for setting their Enrollment Options to Self-Enroll. After the instructor does this, students will be able to enroll themselves in the course.
Disabling Guest Access HTML
Instructors will also need to verify that GUEST access to
their course has been disabled.
MySJSU Messaging HTML
Instructors are responsible for notifying students with such enrollment information as Blackboard Course ID, Course Name, and Enrollment Access Code(s).
Group Creation and Management HTML
Instructors are responsible for creating and adding students to groups.

Course Recycling HTML
This function allows the instructor to purge select areas of their course, in preparation for reusing the course in a future semester.
Course Copying HTML
This function allows the instructor to selectively copy entire areas of your course in preparation for a future semester.
