How to Script and Submit

To capture the screen displays of your program,

1.

Type "script FileName" at the UNIX c-shell prompt "%" before you start running your program; Note that the script file name MUST BE DIFFERENT from any existing file names;

2.

Run your program;

3.

Type Control-D to terminate the scripting.

 



To submit your work through e-mail in PINE,

1.

While in PINE, type C (in lower case) to start composing a new message;

2.

Address the message to "gliu@aspen.sjsu.edu"

NOTE that you should only send your assignments to this address. All other communications should be directed to "gliu@wahoo.sjsu.edu".

3.

In the SUBJECT field, explicitly indicate which assignment you are submitting;

4.

Move the cursor to the ATTACHMENT field;

5.

Type Control-J to attachment a file;

6.

Enter the full path and name of the file you want to send;

7.

Enter a brief title to indicate what the file is about when you are prompted for ATTACHMENT COMMENT;

8.

Repeat steps 5 through 7 for each file you want to send;

9.

Compose a brief message if you have anything to explain; otherwise you may leave the body of the message blank;

10.

Send out the message as usual by typing Control-X.

You should submit each assignment in a separate email message. For each assignment, all of the files should be sent in one signle email message, but each as a separate attachment.
