This is a suggested outline for those of you who choose to do a case study as your class project.
This should be a real organization (you may change the names and significant factors that would break confidentiality, if necessary). It can be your place of employment, an organization where you volunteer, or an organization that you research. This is your opportunity to demonstrate how you would apply what you learn in this class to a real-life situation.
What is the current situation?
How would you describe the culture of the organization?
What is driving change?
What is the problem to be addressed? What kind of problem is it? Technical or adaptive?
Who are the key players? What do they stand to gain or win?
Who else needs to be involved? Who should be part of the buiding coalition? What characteristics would you look for in forming the guiding coalition?
At what stage is the organization in its change process?
Is there a vision and a strategy for this planned change or is it a response to a problem?
Has the vision been articulated to the members or the organization? What is the level of support?
What tools would be useful to this organization in managing change?
What advice would you give?
