COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis course is entirely online. This interdisciplinary course introduces information architecture for virtual, physical, and hybrid s/places, including libraries, museums, exhibits, corporations, and collaborative learning environments, etc. Focus is on facilitating the data-information-transfer process, creating user understanding, and evaluating s/places at the procedural, contextual, and conceptual levels. Students will work independently through six online study modules, complete the associated assignments, and individually and/or collaboratively conceive, propose, and architect a media-based IA prototype project. There are no examinations; no paper is required. Students who intend to do a web-based project should have suitable HTML and web design experience.
