Registration Process
Be sure you understand the information on the general registration information page before you begin using the information on this page.
Registration Dates
Fall 2008 Semester
- See: Office of the Registrar: Fall 2008.
- Regular Session registration begins on June 9th, 2008, and continues until August 17th, 2008. The first time you can actually access the system to register is called your appointment time.
- Special Session registration starts at 7:00 a.m. on June 16th, 2008, and continues until August 17th, 2008.
Note: San Francisco Unified School District Cohort and Executive MLIS cohorts do not register. We handle that for you.

Registration Process for Regular Session (See Special Session information below)
Check SLIS schedules at pylea.sjsu.edu/dfaires/sjsuslis/fa08regular.asp and select your class(es). Note the 5–digit class number for each class. You will need it to register.
Regular session students will be given an appointment time that will appear on my.sjsu.edu. Appointment times are set by the Registrar's Office. Here is how to find enrollment appointments:
Log into MySJSU. If your view does not show as "Student Center", click on Self Service then Student Center.
Once the Student Center page opens, look at the right side of the page and you will see a box titled Enrollment Dates. Click on the link that says "details."
Next, highlight "Fall 2008" in the Select Term drop–down menu and click the "change" button to view your assigned enrollment dates.
The School of Library and Information Science has no control over announcements on or appointments set up through my.sjsu.edu. Contact erecords@sjsu.edu for these issues.
- Go to my.sjsu.edu and register for your classes using the 5-digit class number identifying each class. Make sure you have changed the drop down box to Fall 2008.
If a class is full on my.sjsu.edu a message will say you need a permission number. Please disregard this message. We have no permission numbers. You should not e–mail the office or the instructor. This message means the class is full. You should check back later to see if a spot has opened. Or use the wait list feature.
If you add yourself to the waitlist you will automatically be put into a class if a spot opens up and you are next on the list. Note: The faculty have no part in this so there is no need to contact them. It is an automatic process.

Registration Process for Special Session

We at SLIS set a date for special session registration. For Fall 2008 registration, the date is June 16th (starting at 7:00 a.m.).
There are no individual enrollment appointments set for special session. All students have the same appointment time and can enroll at any time after special session enrollment opens.
