About Dr. Robert Wagers

Robert Wagers was born and raised in Lodi, California. He explains, "That should explain most of my quirks." Graduate work in philosophy and history of science led him to librarianship, "mainly to find a job in something I thought I understood."

Dr. Wagers has been at San José State University's School of Library and Information Science since 1976 and developed the first courses in online searching. He has ridden that hobbyhorse in his research ever since. With apologies to Tom Lehrer, says Wagers, "I see my objective in life the prolonging of adolescence beyond all previous experience!"
