Doctoral Student: Laura Challman Anderson

Laura Anderson Laura Anderson is the Program Director, Service Engineering, in the Services Research function at IBM's Almaden Research Center. She previously served as the Almaden site manager for Computer and Networking Services from 1999 to 2007. She has also served as the Technical Staff Manager for the Director of the Almaden Research Center, and a technical manager in the Computer Science Department. In 1997, she moved to IBM's Silicon Valley Lab where she was the Manager of Customer Solutions for IBM's Content Management product. She joined IBM at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. Laura was recognized with the Silicon Valley YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry award in 2000. She has authored several technical articles in the areas of digital library technology and grid computing.

Proposal Title: Information dissemination and diffusion: Collaborative information behavior and communication patterns in the context of a globally distributed team.
