Douglas L. Achterman
Lecturer
Doug Achterman received his Ph.D. in library and information science from the University of North Texas in 2008. His dissertation examined the relationship between school libraries and student achievement in California. Doug has worked in California public schools since 1984 as an English teacher and, since 1999, as a teacher librarian at San Benito High School in Hollister. His research interests include school libraries and student achievement; virtual libraries; reading and literacy; collaborative learning; and the role of technology in teaching and learning.
