Dr. Camila A. Alire
Lecturer
Camila Alire is dean emerita of two ARL (Association of Research Libraries) libraries — University of New Mexico and Colorado State University. Her professional experience includes dean of the Library at the University of Colorado at Denver; assistant to the dean at the Graduate School of Library and Information Management at the University of Denver; director of two community colleges; information specialist; and a school library director. She holds an MLS from the University of Denver and a doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado.
Camila has been involved in professional service at the local, state, and national levels having served on the ALA Executive Board, ALA Council, ACRL committess and Board, and REFORMA national president. She served as the 2006 ACRL president.
She has co-authored a book on library services to Latino populations, edited a book on disaster recovery, and is co-authoring a book on emotional intelligence and academic library leadership.
