Jean Bedord

Lecturer

Jean Bedord is a consultant specializing in search and business analysis, electronic product strategies and marketing for publishers and content technology companies. She is currently a Senior Analyst with Shore Communications, (www.shore.com) and a frequent contributor to the Shorelines blog, commenting on emerging trends, and a contributor to industry publications. She has been a speaker on ebook strategies and widely quoted in this emerging market.

Jean started working with libraries and electronic publishing over 15 years ago at Dialog Information Services, the pioneer of selling information online. She spent over eleven years in product management, business development, licensing and publisher relations during a time of rapidly changing technologies. After leaving Dialog, she established her own consultancy, eContent Strategies (www.econtentstrategies.com), then joined Shore.

Jean is a public library advocate with over ten years as a trustee with the Cupertino Public Library and Santa Clara County (CA) library system. She has been a speaker and active member in the Special Libraries Association (SLA). In a previous life, she worked on library circulation systems at Washington State University.
