Dr. Margaret Aby Carroll

Lecturer

Dr. Carroll is an adjunct to the faculty at several iSchools - University of North Texas from 1996, University of Washington from 2010, and Drexel from 2011. Dr. Carroll was also a corporate librarian for 15 years, most recently managing the five Microsoft Corporation libraries. Before Microsoft she managed libraries at Texas Instruments. In her pre-library life, she managed sales, marketing, and customer service back office operations in the financial services industry.

Dr. Carroll holds a BS in Applied Arts from Louisiana State University, an MLS from Texas Woman's University, and a PhD in Information Science from the University of North Texas. She is an invited member of both Phi Beta Mu and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. She is Past President of the Texas Chapter of SLA and the Past Chair of the Special Libraries Division of the Texas Library Association. She chairs the SLA Texas Chapter Strategic Planning Committee and serves on the Texas Library Association's Public Communications Committee. Dr. Carroll has presented contributed papers on her research at professional association conferences.
