Dr. Sergio Chaparro-Univazo
Lecturer
Dr. Sergio Chaparro received his MLS and Ph.D. in library and information studies from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Prior to joining the faculty at San José State University in 2009, he was an Assistant Professor at the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. He also holds a B.A. in Library Science, and a B.A. in Linguistics and Literature from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Perú. He currently teaching online for Rutgers University and Simmons College and carries on and consults international collaborative library projects.
His research focuses in Information Policy, International Digital development, Social Justice, International librarianship and Development. He is a member of the International Relations Committee of the American Library Asscociation.
