Carole A. Chapman

Lecturer

Carole A. Chapman graduated from San José State University in 1999, and was able to take advantage of the addition of the word "Information" in the MLIS degree. After working 20 years as the senior copy-cataloger at the De Anza College Library, Carole "retired" down to the Central Coast of California. She continues to teach the Cataloging courses in the Library Technician programs at both Diablo Valley College and City College of San Francisco, relying on audiobooks to keep her awake during her drive north on "teaching weekends." Carole is looking forward to teaching the Beginning Cataloging and Classification course at SJSU, although she will miss seeing the "aha" moment in the eyes of her students as they begin to understand the quirky aspects of the AACR2.

Carole spends her free time enjoying nature (walking, birding, camping), crafting (knitting, quilting, decorating), and collecting (vintage blue & white kitchen glass, depression-era pottery, and those kitschy vintage Santa Claus head mugs!!). She is currently attempting to work her way through many recipe boxes in order to down-size her recipe collection. One recipe that won't be eliminated is her famous Cocoa Mocha Chocolate Chip Cookies.
