Dr. Paul M. Christensen
Lecturer
Dr. Christensen holds degrees from the University of Washington and Brigham Young University (MLS and Ed.D.). He began his career as a teacher and library media specialist at the American School in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He continued in Washington State schools for thirty years until his retirement in 2007.
Dr. Christensen, then, began working as a Fulbright Scholar at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán in Tegucigalpa, Honduras aiding in the implementation of a new Master's degree program in Information Science and Librarianship. Dr. Christensen collaborated with the National Library on a study of the public library system in the country, assisted the professional library association in Honduras (ABIDH) creating a plan for professional and library development. After completing his Fulbright responsibilities, Dr. Christensen began teaching for the School of Library and Information Science at San José State University. In 2011 he was invited to serve as a Peer Discipline Reviewer for the Fulbright Scholar Program on the Council on the International Exchange of Scholars.
In 2003, Dr. Christensen retired from the United States Army/Army Reserve after more than thirty years of service.
