Gregory Cotton

Lecturer

Contrary to popular myth, Greg Cotton doesn't actually keep a copy of either Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules or the Dewey Decimal Classification on his nightstand. These tools, however, and the others used in cataloging and classification have been constant companions throughout his professional life. Greg is the technical services librarian at Cornell College in scenic eastern Iowa, a position he has held since 1988. In addition to teaching at San José State, he has also taught beginning and advanced courses in cataloging and classification at the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa since 1988. When not describing and organizing the world about him, Greg spins and knits wool, bakes sourdough bread, lifts weights, records the happenings of his life in a daily diary, and is starting out on pursuit of a graduate degree in art history. Like most librarians, he is a voracious reader.
