Dr. Robert O. Ellett

Lecturer

Since May 1989, Robert Ellett has been the Catalog Librarian at the Joint Forces Staff College, located in Norfolk, Va. Dr. Ellett received his doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University's Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences His dissertation involved the use of Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) records in the OCLC database in non-PCC libraries.

He has designed several training courses and workshops for local and national library conferences including being an instructor for FEDLINK's original cataloging and authority control workshops. Dr. Ellett is a trainer for the Program for Cooperative Cataloging. He is the coordinator of the Virginia NACO Project.

Dr. Ellett is a member of ALA and the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) Division, Special Libraries Association (SLA), the Online Audiovisual Catalogers (OLAC) Association, and the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST). He is currently a member of ALA CCS — Committee on Education, Training, and Recruitment of Catalogers.
