Meredith Gorran Farkas

Lecturer

Meredith Farkas is the Head of Instructional Services at Portland State University in Oregon. She is the author of the book Social Software in Libraries: Building Collaboration, Communication and Community Online (Information Today, 2007), the monthly column "Technology in Practice" in American Libraries, and the popular blog, Information Wants to be Free (meredith.wolfwater.com/wordpresslink goes to non-SJSU web site). A 2006 Library Journal Mover and Shaker, Meredith was honored with the 2009 LITA/Library Hi Tech award for Outstanding Communication in Library and Information Technology. For her teaching at San José State University, she was recognized with the 2008 WISE Excellence in Online Education Award.
