Dr. Adele Fasick

Lecturer

Dr. Adele Fasick was a member of the faculty at the University of Toronto for 25 years and was dean of the Faculty of Information Studies from 1990 to 1995. Currently she is a part-time lecturer teaching courses on services and resources for children. Her books include ChildView: Evaluating and Reviewing Materials for Children (with Claire England. Littleton, Colorado: Libraries Unlimited, 1987) and Managing Children's Services in Public Libraries. Her most recent research was a study of children's use of libraries published as Opening Doors to Children: Reading, Media and Public Library Use by Children in Six Canadian Cities.

She is a member and has served on committees in the American Library Association, the Canadian Library Association, the Association for Library and Information Science Education, and the International Federation of Library Associations in the Section on Children's Libraries and the Reading Section.
