Melodie Morgan Frances

Lecturer

Melodie Morgan Frances graduated from the School of Library Science (as it was called then) at San José State in 1992. She began teaching "Introduction to Cataloging and Classification" in 1997. She enjoys the challenge of attempting to explain all the strange and arbitrary rules of AACR2 in one semester. In addition to librarianship, Ms. Frances writes fiction, hangs out with her loved ones (both human and feline), and performs at local karaoke bars—where she is best known for her stirring rendition of "Stand by Your Man." Ms. Frances prefers to teach in person as it gives her the opportunity to perform in front of a captive audience.
