Mahnaz Ghaznavi

Lecturer

Mahnaz Ghaznavi has held appointments as a records manager for the J. Paul Getty Trust, an archivist for CSU, Dominguez Hills. She has also served as program officer responsible for grant making in the areas of digitization and electronic records management for the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, and adjunct faculty for UCLA's Information Studies program.

Her experiences managing the day-to-day responsibilities that have come with these various positions have informed, and been informed by, taking part is various digital preservation research initiatives. Collaboration on the Persistent Archives Testbed project, administered by the University of California, San Diego Supercomputer Center, as well the International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems (InterPARES) project, administered by the University of British Columbia, SUNY-Albany, and UCLA, have helped her to better anticipate the possibilities for the future while managing the present realities of everyday work.
