Denise Goetting
Lecturer
Denise Goetting currently serves as Associate Professor of Library Science and Head of Cataloging at Edith Garland Dupré Library at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In her career she has held many different library positions in different types of libraries. Some of the types of libraries include government, medical, public, academic, and special. She has worked as a consultant to hospital libraries and as an independent information broker. Before her current position at Dupré Library, she was the Director of the Instructional Materials Center in the Department of Education at the University of Louisiana.
Ms. Goetting is the lead author on a reference work entitled Newbery and Caldecott Awards: a Subject Index, which is a cumulative index to the topics and themes found in all the award-winning Newbery and Caldecott titles through 2003. She has several publications published or in progress covering topics such as attitudes and job satisfaction in libraries, topics in Newbery Award books as indicators of social trends, and an annotated bibliography of Cajun cookbooks. She regularly presents at state and national conferences.
