Charles J. Greenberg
Lecturer
Charles J. Greenberg MLS MEd is the Coordinator of Curriculum and Research Support for the Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library of Yale University. He is a former chair of both the Educational Media and Public Services Sections of MLA and is currently the Public Services Section Representative to MLA Section Council. He also coordinates an IMLS institutional partnership grant to introduce underrepresented minority high school students to health sciences librarianship and informatics (www.bioinfo-career.org).
He has taught library classes and continuing education for more than 20 years on topics ranging from cognition and interface design to public digital archives. He promotes information professional expertise to surgeons through his blog (surgery-update.blogspot.com) and sees a bright future for information professionals in the knowledge economy. Outside of his academic position, he teaches adult education topics such as digital camera use and online music to life-long learners. Charles also contributes regularly to Educational Media Reviews Online (EMRO) and encourages other information professionals to release their evaluative inhibitions.
