Alyce L. Scott

Lecturer

Alyce Scott is the Coordinator of the Digital Imaging Program at the Illinois State Library (ISL). The program has a number of facets, including development of the Illinois Digital Archives; digitization of materials from the ISL collection; and monitoring of Library Services and Technology Act digital imaging grants awarded annually by ISL.

After receiving her MLIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1996, Ms. Scott was hired by Brookens Library at the University of Illinois at Springfield. As head of the Circulation Department there, she developed an electronic reserve system for the library. Digital imaging and copyright compliance became important components of the reserve system and helped her to develop expertise in those areas.

When the Library Automation and Technology Division was formed at ISL, Ms. Scott was offered the chance to develop the Digital Imaging Program in 2000. Always ready to accept a challenge she plunged in head-first and remains committed to the continuing development and improvement of the program.
