Dr. Katherine E. Skinner

Lecturer

Dr. Katherine Skinner is the Executive Director of the Educopia Institute link goes to non-SJSU web site, a not-for-profit educational organization she helped to found in 2006 to act as a catalyst for collaborative approaches to the production, dissemination, and preservation of scholarship and research data. She serves as the Program Manager for the MetaArchive Cooperative link goes to non-SJSU web site, a distributed digital preservation solution for cultural memory organizations. She is the PI on projects for the Library of Congress's National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program (NDIIPP) and the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) that study sustainability and interoperability issues in the context of the MetaArchive Cooperative's digital preservation activities.

Dr. Skinner was previously the digital projects librarian at Emory University, where she served as co-PI on numerous projects in digital scholarship, access, and preservation arenas. Skinner received her Ph.D. from Emory University and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
