Vicki Steiner

Lecturer

Vicki Steiner is a Reference Librarian at the UCLA School of Law. She is the author of the forthcoming Companion Animals: A Legal Research Guide, which will be published by William S. Hein & Co., Ltd. in 2011. Vicki's interests include social media, distance learning in LIS, intellectual property, and library use of emerging technologies. For her legal work, Vicki was named a "Southern California Super Lawyer—Rising Star" by the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine and The Journal for Law and Politics in 2005, 2006, and 2007. She continues her pro bono legal representation of nonprofit organizations dedicated to the protection of animals.

Vicki earned her MLIS from San José State University in 2010. She became a graduate student teaching assistant for LIBR 203 in 2010 and was a peer mentor for the Elluminate Student Training Project. She is delighted to return to the SLIS family to teach LIBR 203, Online Social Networking: Technology and Tools.
