Mary Ellen Pozzebon Presents Paper at Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition Conference
SLIS lecturer Mary Ellen Pozzebon presented her paper “Partner Your way to Success: Advancing Consortia Opportunities in the Volunteer State” on November 5 at the 29th Annual Charleston Conference: Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition
. In the paper Pozzebon details a recent project to increase consortial purchasing of electronic resources in Tennessee.
Topics of the presentation included existing consortial purchasing models, consequences to libraries of the economic crisis, conducting a survey of electronic resource purchases by libraries throughout the state, working with consortia and vendors to achieve volume discounts, and next steps for the project. Proceedings will be available next year.
Pozzebon teaches SLIS classes in Collections Management and in Managing Electronic Resources.
