Tour the Neil Armstrong Virtual Library and Archives with VCARA in Second Life
Join us for a tour of NASA's Neil Armstrong Virtual Library and Archives. We will begin in the Roman Senate in VCARA on SLIS Island in
Second Life and proceed to this innovative, fully virtual archives and library. A very brief introduction to our destination will be provided, and
note cards to help you teleport to this destination will be distributed.
You will have a chance to explore one of many exhibits or collections, such as collections focusing on the history of women in aeronautics, exhibits featuring prominent African-Americans in NASA, and the economic side of astronautical history. The archives also feature collections related to the histories of Apollo 11 and Space Medicine.
After exploring the archives, we will meet back at the Roman Senate in VCARA to discuss what we have seen and learned. This is a great opportunity to see the first virtual library recognized by the U.S. Congress and to explore this new (and growing!) trend in online learning!
Thursday, February 23
7:00 - 8:00 p.m. SLT (Pacific)
