Biographical Sketch

Prior to joining the SJSU School of Library and Information Science, Heather Ebey spent 21 years of increasing responsibility working for the University of California, San Diego. Starting as a microcomputer consultant who advised and assisted staff, students, and faculty on how to install and use communications software and a modem, she moved to the Systems Group and was responsible for Unix system administration on various HP-UX and Solaris servers and workstations. She has written or modified code in C, PHP, Perl, and various shell languages to meet faculty and staff needs, and she has configured, compiled, and installed countless Open Source applications.
