The MARA program will prepare highly skilled professionals to provide leadership in the emerging field of electronic records and digital asset management.
In addition to a background in traditional records management theory, students who complete the program will understand the critical role electronic records play in preserving institutional memory and ensuring corporate accountability and will acquire the theoretical and technical skills they need to identify, organize, and make accessible records in digital form. Armed with this expertise, MARA graduates will be among the few information professionals specifically trained to manage the irreplaceable, yet highly vulnerable, digital materials now produced by corporate, government, and nonprofit institutions.
Acquiring the knowledge and technical skills required for success is just part of the experience. Three courses designed to provide practical experiences — Professional Projects, Professional Experience: Internship, and Organizational Consulting Project (OCP) — are valuable components of this unique program.
