Post

Cherry-Ann’s research interests are in the areas of library leadership and management, access to information, the scholarly communication process, and patron engagement with libraries, particularly in the context of the English-speaking Caribbean. Her research question looks at the student stakeholder and how they interact with the academic library, especially as it relates to the library meeting their needs and expectations towards a successful scholarly outcome. Cherry-Ann is currently a Special Collections librarian at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, where she is currently working on sorting and creating a finding aid to the Rex Nettleford collection—a combination of books, personal, and institutional papers bequeathed by the former Vice-Chancellor Emeritus of The UWI. Prior to her relocation to Jamaica in 2009 to assume the position of Acquisitions Librarian, Cherry-Ann headed the Montserrat Public Library. She is a frequent contributor of Caribbean-related issues to the literature on Library and Information Science.

Cherry-Ann is a member of the Editors’ Association of Canada, ASIS&T, the Jamaica Cancer Society, Book Industry Association of Jamaica, and an executive member of the Jamaica Reading Association.  She is also active on campus as a First Year Experience facilitator, Mentor for the Sports Athlete scholarship program, member of the Library’s marketing team, Library Union Representative, and other liaison activities.
