Association of Research Libraries Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce

The ARL Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and 52 ARL member libraries, offers a stipend of up to $10,000 to attract students from underrepresented groups to careers in academic and research libraries. The initiative includes a mentoring relationship with an experienced librarian. The stipend may be combined with other financial aid.
The award is available to members of an underrepresented racial or ethnic group who are pursuing careers in research librarianship. Deadline for application is usually in the summer. For more information, please visit the ARL Diversity Initiatives webpage
