Friends of the Leisure World Library Scholarships
The Friends of the Leisure World Library offers an annual scholarship competition for Southern California SLIS students interested in a career in public libraries.
Criteria:
- Completed 6 courses with a 3.0 GPA or better
- Lives in Southern California
- Committed to a career in public librarianship
- Attend awards banquet
There will be two scholarships of $1,000 each awarded. The recipients will be honored at the Friends of the Leisure World Library Annual luncheon, which usually takes place on the last Friday in May, at Seal Beach Leisure World. The award includes a lunch ticket for the awardee and a guest.
Deadline: April 1
To apply, submit your resume and personal statement using the SLIS Scholarship Application form. When using that form to apply for this scholarship – use pull-down for any SLIS Scholarship but in the "Name" text box, make sure to add the words "FW LEISURE" after your name.
