SLISLife Blogs
Every SLISLife user automatically has a platform available to them for blogging. It is recommended that all users take advantage of this opportunity and write at least a few blogs to share their academic and professional interests with the rest of the community.
You can access your blogging home from the "Blog" button on the menu bar at the top of the page.

This will take you to a page listing the most recently posted blogs in the network. You can click on any of these blogs to read them, or you can decide to write your own blog entry. At the top of the page, you will see a menu with several options. The button on the upper left reads "Write new blog entry."

Clicking on "Write new blog entry" will bring you to a page from which you can compose your new blog.

Type your blog text in the box. If you would like to add links and formatting to the blog, do so according to the visual editor instructions.
Once you have posted a blog, you can view your blog entries. On your blog page, each entry is displayed with the title and a thumbnail description of the blog. From here, you can click through to read the complete entry.

From this page you have the options of editing or deleting your blog post.

SLISLife Blogs and RSS
If you want to keep updated every time a user posts a new blog, you have the option of subscribing to their blog's RSS feed. You will read the RSS updates through an RSS reader. If you do not already use an RSS reader, you may want to sign up with one. The most popular RSS readers are MyYahoo!, Google Reader, and Bloglines.
At the upper right corner of any user's blog entries page, you will see an orange box that reads "XML". This is how you subscribe to an RSS feed of the blog.

Once you click on this box, you will have the option of subscribing to the feed with your preferred reader.
