Job Search Blast Off information and materials now available on Blackboard Twice a year SLIS offers the Job Search Blast Off workshops with Career Center counselor Laurie Morgan, with active discussion boards and live webcasts. During the rest of the year the Job Search Blast Off materials remain available to students and alumni, though the discussion board is closed. Resources include these modules addressing the essential skills and tools you'll need to conduct a successful job search: * Creating a Targeted Resume - This module covers what you need to know to create a resume that will get you interviews. * Job Search Strategies That Work - Need some ideas on how to jump- start your job search? Learn proven strategies for getting the job you want. * Interviewing & Portfolio Basics - Want to learn how to interview well? Wondering what a job search portfolio is? This workshop introduces you to the essentials in interviewing, as well as a look at the benefits of using a portfolio. Are you interested in reviewing the career resource course materials and videoclips from the recent Job Search Blast Off course? If so, login in to Blackboard, go to the Courses tab (top left), type the words Job Search into the Course Search space, click on go and you'll see the course (101Morgan - SJSU Career Center | Job Search Blast Off). On the far right of that line is an Enroll button; click to self-enroll. Alumni can obtain access to the Job Search Blast Off materials and resources by emailing Dale David (ddavid@slis.sjsu.edu} for special instructions for alumni enrollment.
