[edit] Downloading Second Life and logging in.

1. Once your account has been created, you have to download the world.
2. If you haven’t already gotten to the download page from your email confirmation letter, you can go to http://secondlife.com/community/downloads.php
3.Press the download button for the appropriate platform you are running (Windows, Mac, or Linux)
4. Your computer will prompt you asking you if you would like to save the file, and you should click on “save file”

5.After it is done downloading, open the folder and click on the hand symbol
6.You will see a login screen. Login using your username and password that you set up during registration

7. If there are any upgrades to Second Life, agree to install them now.
8. Read and agree to the terms of service
9. Read the terms of service and then press continue
10. Now you are in Second Life Orientation Island
