It is important to make sure that your system will support Sloodle before attempting to install it. In general, however, anywhere with Moodle installed should mostly support Sloodle.

[edit] General Requirements

  • Public webserver (your own PC might not work)
  • Moodle installation (with Administrator privileges)
  • Access to Moodle files (via FTP or similar)

Some features (notably, the Sloodle Object Distributor or Sloodle Vending Machine) also require that XMLRPC messages can be sent from your webserver to Second Life. The Sloodle installation provides a library to do this, so it is not necessary to be enabled by your server. Nonetheless, it may not be compatible with all systems.

As of Sloodle 0.3, auto registered avatars can have their automatically-generated Moodle login details communicated to them in-world. This requires that Moodle is able to send emails, although it is still an experimental feature and so may not always work.
