Joe Matthews publishes article titled "Customer Satisfaction: A New Perspective" in Public Libraries

An article by Joe Matthews, "Customer Satisfaction: A New Perspective", was published in the November / December 2008 issue of Public Libraries. The article suggests that libraries should calculate a Net Promoters Score when examining data from customer satisfaction surveys. Public Libraries is published by the Public Library Association .

Matthews, a SLIS lecturer, holds an MBA and teaches classes in database management, automated library systems, and others, including sections of the core LIBR 204 course in Information Organizations and Management for SJSU School of Library & Information Science. He also oversees the LIBR 292 Organizational Consulting Project in the SLIS Executive MLIS program.

Ellyssa Kroski publishes article on screencasting titled "That's Infotainment!" in the School Library Journal

Ellyssa Kroski, part-time SLIS faculty, was published in the the February 1, 2009 issue of School Library Journal. The article, "That's Infotainment", is about how to create library screencasts: "Screencasts are ideal for helping users get the most from your library. Here's how to make your own video tutorials."
