There has never been a better time to become an information professional... and there can be no better place to study than at San José State University's School of Library and Information Science.
Our graduates enter the professional world with a graduate degree in Library and Information Science fully-accredited by the American Library Association. While educated in the academic discipline of Library and Information Science and the professional competencies of Librarianship, these highly skilled men and women carry job titles as diverse as records manager, children's librarian, software developer, reader's advisor, Internet trainer, historical researcher, information analyst, teen specialist, teacher-librarian and freedom of information and protection of privacy officer. Career opportunities are limited only by one's imagination, ambition and degree of mobility.
San José's School of Library and Information Science is the largest accredited program in the world. With more than 2000 graduate students we are able to attract highly capable faculty and offer a wide range of courses. Our faculty work with students as advisors and mentors to ensure strong connections between your career objectives and our ability to support you.
