Group New York - Trends impacting the Edmonton Public Library

Our assignment was to evaluate an unfamiliar public library, using terminology from our core texts.  Cognizant of needing Competency O evidence for our e-portfolios, my group chose to study trends impacting the Edmonton Public Library in Edmonton, Alberta.  We were encouraged to provide a media rich, compelling report.  Incorporating a multitude of images, links, videos, personal interviews and audio recordings, we created a Wix website to present our findings.   The site provides a background of the city of Edmonton and then delves into the the various ways EPL serves their community through innovative programming and services.  We also provided several ideas for continued improvement.  Overall, we were very impressed with EPL and their forward thinking vision and hope to see more public libraries emulate their policies in the future.
