What I am doing now.

I manage and oversee the Collection Services and History Collections departments of the Laupus Library and the curator of the Country Doctor Museum. I also manage and oversee the application of metadata standards for all library collections and provide guidance on collections budget and collections management activities.

What are the most valuable skills I use in my job?

I use skills from just about every course from my program, particularly the skills learned in my various resource description courses.

The experience that probably most surprised me about being useful at the job I have is from the website development class at SJSU. I use that knowledge in committee work, when promoting departmental events, through professional service, and more. I have an understanding from that class of what it takes to get content from where the information is stored to the web, and I have learned how to customize web content.
