She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Special Collections (UIUC, 2011), and a Post Master’s Certificate in Digital Archives and Records Management (SJSU, 2014). Harriet has worked in cataloging/metadata at various academic libraries since 2009. During 2019-2023, Harriet led the metadata services department at Iowa State University Library where she helped staff update and streamline cataloging workflows, built a new metadata creation team, improved metadata description for marginalized peoples, and developed new collaborative relationships with other library departments. Recently, Harriet started a new position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she serves as the Chair of Acquisitions, Cataloging, Metadata, and E-Resources. She knits when not obsessing over metadata, and lives with Lulu, a gray and white medium-hair tabby, who diligently guards the yarn from pests.
