The Student Services Team has answers to administrative questions and problems. They can help with questions about admissions, registration, withdrawals, candidacy forms, and graduation applications. Student Services Coordinator

Biographical Sketch

Gina Lee joined the San José State University School of Information in 2006. She has worked in several roles. Initially she worked closely with students when the iSchool had a satellite campus at CSU Fullerton. She  provided a complete student support package.

When the iSchool went 100% online in 2009 Gina joined the technology team running queries for data analysis, online syllabi and database passwords for instructors and students.

She has now moved back to providing online support for all students in the iSchool.

Sheila Gurtu
Student Outreach Specialist

Biographical Sketch

As the Student Outreach Specialist, Sheila Gurtu supports the Associate Director to coordinate graduate advising and develops student success resources for the San José State University School of Information. She maintains the Canvas advising sites for MLIS and Certificate students, manages Open Classes, MARA and Certificate enrollment services and also implements outreach, retention and survey analysis for the School. She is available to help all students by email and telephone.

In 2010 Sheila joined the Circle of Learning grant staff, providing support with student services, accounting, communications, project marketing and dissemination, data collection, reporting, and conference planning. She also helped iSchool faculty with other federally funded grants. Sheila is an iSchool alumna and enjoyed working as a teacher librarian in elementary and junior high schools in San José for many years.
